Our law firm is seeking a dedicated and experienced Labor & Employment Associate Attorney to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for representing clients in legal proceedings, assisting with trial preparation, and providing legal advice on labor and employment-related matters. The successful candidate will be an integral part of our team, working directly with clients, and participating in discovery. This role requires experience in the legal industry, with a focus on labor and employment law.
Responsibilities:
1. Represent clients in court or before government agencies.
2. Prepare and draft legal documents on behalf of clients, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
3. Advise clients on their legal rights and responsibilities related to labor and employment matters.
4. Assist with trial preparation, including gathering and organizing evidence, coordinating with expert witnesses, and developing trial strategies.
5. Conduct discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests, taking and defending depositions, and reviewing and analyzing documents.
6. Negotiate settlements for legal disputes on behalf of clients.
7. Comply with all legal standards and regulations, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of labor and employment laws and precedents.
8. Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law.
Qualifications:
1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admitted to the Georgia state bar and in good standing.
3. Proven experience with discovery, trial preparation, court representation, and legal writing.
4. Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle a large volume of cases.
6. Proficient in legal research and writing, with a strong attention to detail.
7. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
8. High degree of professional ethics, integrity, and gravitas.
9. Excellent negotiation skills, with a track record of successful outcomes for clients.
10. Proficient in the use of legal software and technology.
11. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
