We are seeking an experienced and driven Account Manager to join our team in the tobacco industry. This role is critical in managing and growing relationships with our key distributors, Core-Mark and McLane, and expanding our distribution network. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in account management, a deep understanding of the tobacco supply chain, and a passion for driving business growth. This is a remote position with travel required 40-60% of the time to meet clients, attend industry events, and support sales efforts in key regions.

Job Details
Key Responsibilities:
Client Relationship Management:
Serve as the primary point of contact for Core-Mark and McLane, ensuring excellent service and fostering long-term relationships.
Regularly communicate with key stakeholders to understand their needs, resolve issues, and identify opportunities for growth.
Business Development & Growth:
Identify and capitalize on new opportunities to grow the distribution business, both within existing accounts and through potential new partners.
Work closely with sales and marketing teams to develop strategies for expanding market share and increasing distribution volume.
Sales Strategy & Execution:
Collaborate with internal teams to align sales strategies with distribution capabilities and client needs.
Analyze sales data, market trends, and competitive landscape to inform decision-making and set actionable goals.
Account Support & Problem Solving:
Address any client-related concerns or issues quickly and professionally, ensuring a high level of satisfaction and retention.
Work with logistics, operations, and finance teams to resolve challenges and ensure smooth product distribution.
Travel & Client Visits:
Travel extensively to visit key clients, distributors, and trade shows (40-60% travel).
Build rapport and ensure alignment with the client’s objectives, providing on-site support as necessary.
Reporting & Analysis:
Track and report on performance metrics, sales, and business growth to senior management.
Provide recommendations for process improvements, pricing strategies, and new product offerings.
Qualifications:
Experience:
3+ years of experience in account management, sales, or business development, preferably within the tobacco or distribution industries.
Proven track record of managing high-value accounts, specifically working with large distributors like Core-Mark or McLane.
Skills:
Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills.
Ability to develop and execute strategic business plans.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Comfortable working independently and managing multiple accounts simultaneously.
Travel:
Willingness and ability to travel up to 40-60% of the time to meet with clients and support business needs.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (preferred, but not required).
