We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. This is a permanent position, offering the opportunity to play a crucial role in the financial management of our organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the financial records of our company by accurately recording the day-to-day financial transactions of the company. This role is not just about crunching numbers but also about understanding the business dynamics that will drive our financial success.
Responsibilities:
As our Accountant/Bookkeeper, your duties will include:
1. Preparing financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual budgets, and reports required by regulatory agencies.
2. Maintaining the general ledger and preparing monthly closing procedures.
3. Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements.
4. Preparing payroll reports and managing the payroll process.
5. Preparing quarterly and annual reports.
6. Interfacing with clients on QuickBooks and payroll questions.
7. Reporting payroll taxes and managing tax reporting processes.
8. Developing budgets in collaboration with the management team.
9. Performing statement reconciliation and debt management.
10. Providing bookkeeping services, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
11. Collaborating with the finance team to improve financial processes and procedures.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
1. A minimum of 5+ years of experience in a similar role within the finance industry.
2. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA certification is a plus.
3. Proficiency in financial statement preparation, payroll reports, and tax reporting.
4. Extensive experience with QuickBooks and other accounting software.
5. Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles.
6. Excellent mathematical skills and an understanding of data privacy standards.
7. Strong attention to detail with an ability to spot numerical errors.
8. Ability to interpret and analyze financial statements and periodicals.
9. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
10. Ability to work independently, manage large, varied workloads, and meet tight deadlines.
