About The Staff Accountant Position:
The Staff Accountant is in charge of assisting with the day-to-day accounting of the Maintenance, Repairs, and Corporate departments. This individual will collaborate closely with these departments to ensure that accounting information is captured accurately and on time. This person will also be in charge of preparing spend analyses for the Cost of Sales accounts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform full-cycle accounts payable (“A/P”) which includes: process, code, enter, and reconcile invoices and expense reports
Manage the credit card transactions to ensure timely submission of expense reports
Prepare monthly credit card, vendor statements reconciliation
Maintain an organized and controlled AP email inbox in order to minimize aged payables and ensure vendors are being responded on a timely basis
Review and analyze A/P aging and generate checks weekly
Maintain vendor files and set up new vendors including W-9
Perform full cycle accounts receivable (“A/R”) which includes: generating invoices, payments collection, cash application, bank deposits
Prepare cash reconciliation of customer payments daily
Maintain customer files and create new customer files
Support quarterly inventory and fixed assets count
Provides timely and appropriate information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data
Assist with the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process: balance sheet reconciliations, financial package preparation
Ensure compliance with company policies while carrying out daily processes and controls accurately and timely
Carry out annual review of 1099 vendors/contractors as well as annual filing of 1099 compliance and filing for all eligible vendors/contractors
Contribute to process enhancement efforts and improvement projects to increase efficiency
Assist in annual operating budget preparation
Support annual Workers’ Compensation audit and property tax filing
Additional duties to support project accounting needs may be added as necessary



Qualification:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting
3 – 6 years of strong accounting experience, including GAAP principles
Excellent listening skills
Professional communication skills (both oral and written)
Ability to problem solve and find solutions
Proficiency in Microsoft applications, especially Excel
Self-motivated, proactive, and strong time management skills
Experience with QuickBooks Online preferred
Experience in construction industry is a plus
