We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Contract Accountant to join our Finance team. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to be part of a leading financial institution, where you will be responsible for a wide range of accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial property management, monthly account reconciliation, and depreciation schedules. This is a contract position, offering the chance to work with a diverse and accomplished team, and make a significant impact on our financial operations.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage and oversee all aspects of our commercial property portfolio's financial activities, including rent collection, lease agreements, and property expenses.
2. Conduct monthly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
3. Prepare, review and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
4. Perform regular, detailed audits to ensure accuracy in financial documents and procedures.
5. Create, maintain, and manage depreciation schedules for all company assets.
6. Collaborate with financial team members to analyze financial status and identify areas for potential improvement.
7. Assist in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements and budget performance.
8. Ensure compliance with all internal processes and relevant regulations and laws.
9. Conduct document and system controls and audits to ensure accuracy and quality of data.
10. Foster trust relationships with suppliers, clients, and colleagues.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, ideally within the Finance industry.
3. Demonstrated experience with commercial property management, monthly account reconciliation, and depreciation schedules.
4. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting and legislation.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with exceptional skills in Excel.
6. Strong analytical skills with an attention to detail.
7. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
8. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
9. Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
10. CPA certification is a plus.
