Job Details
Responsibilities:
As an Accountant, your key duties will include:
1. Overseeing and managing the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
2. Coordinating with external auditors during periodic audits, ensuring all necessary documentation is provided and all queries are addressed promptly and accurately.
3. Utilizing accounting software and ERP systems to maintain financial records and prepare reports.
4. Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for senior management, highlighting any significant variances and trends.
5. Assisting in the development and implementation of internal financial controls and procedures to enhance the company's financial health.
6. Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
7. Participating in strategic planning, fraud prevention, and budget development.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Accountant position should possess the following qualifications:
1. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
3. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation is highly desirable.
4. Strong knowledge and experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
5. Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
6. Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail.
7. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to present financial data to a non-financial audience.
8. Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
9. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
