Job Details

We're currently seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our dynamic finance team. This is a part-time permanent position requiring 20-25 hours per week. As an Accounting Clerk, you will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting, bookkeeping, and financial tasks, including managing all financial transactions, from fixed payments and variable expenses to bank deposits and budgets. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent numerical skills, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all financial transactions, including fixed payments, variable expenses, bank deposits, and budgets.
  • Prepare and maintain financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts.
  • Prepare preliminary financial reports, such as income statements and balance sheets.
  • Ensure all transactions are properly recorded and entered into the computerized accounting system.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings.
  • Assist with other accounting projects, as needed.
  • Prepare bank deposits, general ledger postings, and statements.
  • Reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
  • Process payroll for employees, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
  • Perform job costing functions, including tracking costs and providing detailed cost reports.
  • Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures.
  • Competency in MS Office, databases, and accounting software.
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills.
  • Diploma or degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
  • Ability to handle high volumes of data.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of integrity and dependability.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting and bookkeeping principles and procedures.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
  • Excellent data entry skills.
  • Strong understanding of business and income tax worksheets and computations.
