We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Accounting Manager to join the Finance team within the Cannabis industry. This is a permanent position and an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional who is passionate about managing all aspects of financial operations, including financial reporting, forecasting, general ledger, and budgeting. The Accounting Manager will play a strategic role in driving financial performance, ensuring accuracy and compliance, and providing leadership to our accounting team. This role is perfect for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced, results-driven environment, and who is ready to take on the challenge of optimizing our financial operations.

Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage the general ledger and daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash management, and payroll.
Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements and reports for executive management, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Conduct financial forecasting and budgeting, and work closely with the management team to align financial planning with company goals.
Ensure compliance with all internal policies, relevant regulations, and accounting standards.
Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
Coordinate and manage the annual audit process with external auditors.
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support overall company goals and objectives.
Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. CPA or advanced degree is preferred.
Minimum 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a leadership role within the finance industry.
Proven experience in financial reporting, forecasting, general ledger, and budgeting.
Strong understanding of GAAP and other accounting principles.
Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a commitment to developing team members.
High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to communicate complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
Proficiency in Sage Intacct is a major plus!
Experience with accounting software and financial management systems.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
