We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Accounting Manager to join our team. This is hybrid position that offers a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in our accounting and finance department. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of success in managing financials, reconciliations, monthly reporting, entries, year-end close, accruals, and payroll. Responsibilities
As the Accounting Manager, you will:
1. Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
2. Help with quarterly and year-end financial audit activities and the annual corporate financial controls audit.
3. Assess current practices and procedures, and make recommendations for improvements.
4. Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
5. Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested.
6. Supervise, coach, and develop staff in the accounting department.
7. Manage the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations and report preparation.
8. Participate in budgeting processes.
9. Engage in ongoing cost reduction analyses in all areas of the company.
10. Stay abreast of industry trends and regulations to ensure effectiveness and compliance.
11. Help in the implementation of new accounting policies, standards, and guidelines.
12. Provide detailed analyses and explanations of all transactions.
Qualifications
To be considered for the Accounting Manager role, you will need the following:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in Accounting or related field.
3. Experience with MS Dynamics, Sage Intact, or MS Business central preferred.
4. Proficiency with IMiS or other membership software is a plus.
5. Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
6. Experience in managing AP, AR, payroll, and management.
7. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
8. High level of integrity, accuracy, dependability, enthusiasm, and confidentiality.
9. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and computer-based accounting software.
10. Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
11. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity.
12. Ability to execute and follow-through to completion and documentation.
