Our company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Manager to join our dynamic team. This is a permanent position that provides an excellent opportunity to play a pivotal role in our accounting and finance department. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of our accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash flow, month and year-end close, sales tax, payroll, payroll tax, and inventory reconciliation. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, who can drive efficiency and improve our financial processes.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll and utilities, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, check runs, fixed asset activity, debt activity, etc.
2. Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
3. Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
4. Coordinate and complete annual audits.
5. Provide recommendations to improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
6. Meet financial accounting objectives.
7. Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close.
8. Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information.
9. Collaborate with the other finance department managers to support overall department goals and objectives.
10. Advise staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions.
11. Respond to inquiries from the director of finance, firm-wide manager, and other finance and firm-wide managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests, etc.
12. Work with the controller to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit.
13. Supervise the general ledger group to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
14. Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred.
3. Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position.
4. Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
5. Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
6. Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
7. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
8. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
9. Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
10. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
11. High attention to detail and accuracy.
12. Ability to direct and supervise.
