This role offers a unique opportunity to lead and develop a robust accounting department. If you are a motivated, detail-oriented, and experienced accounting professional with a passion for leadership, we encourage you to apply.
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including: general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, check runs, fixed asset activity, debt activity etc.
- Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
- Coordinate and complete annual audits.
- Provide recommendations to improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
- Oversee the accurate and timely processing of positive pay transactions.
- Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with all internal and external reporting requirements, including SEC reporting and ASC 842.
- Maintain a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Work closely with team members to educate them about finance and accounting procedures, explore how they can better utilize reports and tools, and increase their financial acumen.
- Implement, manage, and maintain the D365 system.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365).
- Experience in SEC reporting and ASC 842.
- Excellent computer skills; experience in accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite; Access, database, or other system knowledge.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to direct and supervise.
- Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity.
