Job Details

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee and manage the general ledger.
2. Develop and implement financial policies and procedures, and ensure compliance.
3. Prepare and present financial reports, including monthly and annual statements.
4. Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of the organizational structure.
5. Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
6. Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts.
7. Collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.
8. Develop and maintain internal control and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation.
9. Work closely with management or executive teams to share reports and analysis findings.
10. Manage and track the performance of invested assets in keeping with policies and investment guidelines.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. An advanced degree or professional certification such as CPA is preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or a related field, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
3. Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
4. Proven experience with general ledger functions, including setting up new ledgers, accounts, and cost centers.
5. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
6. Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
7. Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting, and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
9. Strong organizational and leadership skills.
10. Experience in the construction industry is a plus.
