Job Details:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Accounting Manager to join our thriving engineering company. This is a permanent position that offers an exciting opportunity to oversee and manage our financial operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for numbers. This role requires a minimum of 3+ years of experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities:

As an Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for:

1. Overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll, and utilities.
2. Coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget, financial forecasts, and report variances.
3. Preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements.
4. Coordinating the preparation of regulatory reporting.
5. Researching technical accounting issues for compliance.
6. Supporting month-end and year-end close processes.
7. Ensuring quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
8. Managing and complying with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
9. Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
10. Liaising with our auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances is maintained.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master’s degree or CPA is highly desirable.
2. A minimum of 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the engineering industry.
3. Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
4. Experience with creating financial statements, general ledger functions, and the month-end/year-end close process.
5. Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
6. Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting, and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
7. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to create financial reports and conduct cost analyses.
8. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
10. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
