We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Accounting Manager to join our team in the Finance industry. This is a permanent role that offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, managing the financial reporting processes, and providing leadership to the accounting team. This role requires a deep understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and general ledger management. The ideal candidate will have experience in the nonprofit or higher education sectors, and knowledge of GASB standards. Certification from the International Information System Security Certification Consortium, or (ISC)2, is highly desirable.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
  • Manage the preparation and publication of departmental and organization financial documents.
  • Collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.
  • Direct the financial planning and strategy of the organization by analyzing its performance and risks.
  • Retain constant awareness of the company’s financial position and act to prevent problems.
  • Review financial data and prepare monthly and annual reports.
  • Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislation.
  • Develop and manage financial systems/models and carry out business modeling and risk assessments.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a managerial accounting role.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred.
  • Experience in the nonprofit or higher education sectors is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of GASB standards is a must.
  • Proficiency in financial reporting, accounting, financial analysis, and general ledger management.
  • (ISC)2 certification is a strong plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and advanced knowledge of accounting software.
  • Strong understanding of business and income tax worksheets and computations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity.
  • Ability to execute and follow-through to completion and documentation.
