We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Accounting Manager to join our dynamic team. This role is perfect for a seasoned professional in the Manufacturing industry who is passionate about numbers, has a keen eye for detail, and is driven by the desire to make a significant impact in a fast-paced environment. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the accounting functions, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and developing internal control policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll, and utilities.
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget, financial forecasts, and report variances.
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements, ensuring quality compliance and control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Collaborate with the management team to support overall department goals and objectives.
  • Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Advise on the handling of non-routine reporting transactions and events.
  • Respond to inquiries from the Director of Finance, and other managers regarding financial results and special reporting requests.
  • Work with the manufacturing team to understand and manage inventory levels, including conducting periodic physical counts and reconciliations.
  • Use advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel to develop and maintain financial models and reports.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the accounting and finance sector, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
  • Proven working experience as an Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor, or Finance Manager.
  • Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting.
  • Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to direct and supervise.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, vlookups, and complex formulas.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize projects to meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Experience with creating financial statements and general ledger functions.
  • Strong understanding of business and income tax worksheets and computations.
  • Must have experience with inventory management and control.
  • Proven ability to manage, guide, and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used.
