Our dynamic energy company is seeking an exceptional individual to fill the role of Accounting Manager. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing the financial health of our organization, ensuring our financial operations run smoothly and efficiently. Responsibilities

As a Permanent Accounting Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

1. Overseeing the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
2. Managing and overseeing all aspects of our accounting functions, including AP, AR, month-end and year-end close processes, journal entries, and reconciliations.
3. Ensuring all financial reporting is compliant with GAAP.
4. Coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget, financial forecasts, and report variances.
5. Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
6. Providing leadership, direction, and management to the accounting team.
7. Collaborating with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.
8. Advising on long-term business and financial planning.
9. Reviewing all formal finance-related procedures.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

1. A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or CPA certification is a plus.
2. At least 5 years of accounting experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role.
3. Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting and a proven knowledge of GAAP.
4. Proficiency in managing the AP, AR, month-end and year-end close processes, journal entries, and reconciliations.
5. Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven business decisions.
7. Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel) and accounting software.
8. Experience in the energy or natural gas sector is a plus.
9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
10. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
