We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Permanent Accounting Manager to join our dynamic Accounting and Finance team. This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of a key role that is integral to the financial health and success of our organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the company's accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy of financial statements, and providing financial reports on a monthly basis. This position requires a hands-on approach and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
2. Coordinate and execute the month-end and year-end closing process, ensuring the timely and accurate reporting of all monthly financial information.
3. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, and coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
4. Develop and maintain the integrity of the financial reporting process and financial controls.
5. Coordinate, develop, and update written policies and procedures over the financial reporting process.
6. Maintain and strengthen internal controls over accounting processes and systems.
7. Provide strategic guidance around capital financing options to support company growth needs.
8. Assist in the preparation of budgets or forecasts.
9. Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team.
10. Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
11. Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
12. Interact with various internal teams to provide insightful financial data to assist in long-term and short-term decision making.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred.
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position.
4. Preferred experience of 1-3 years in a Big 4 or large regional accounting firm.
5. Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
6. Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
7. Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
8. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
9. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
10. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
11. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
12. Experience with a software system implementation a plus.
13. Ability to work independently, with little supervision.
14. Ability to effectively direct and supervise.
