Accounting Manager

We are family style environment and are looking for an Accounting Manager who has experience in a local government or municipality.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Accounting Manager to join our team in the Engineering industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Accounting Policies & Procedures, work with city departments, Annual Operating Budgets, and Annual ROPs. The successful candidate will have a passion for accuracy and attention to detail, and a proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
• Work with city departments to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
• Prepare and manage Annual Operating Budgets and Annual ROPs
• Analyze financial statements and provide recommendations for improvement
• Manage the day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes
• Manage the preparation of financial reports for management and external stakeholders
• Oversee the preparation of tax returns and other regulatory filings
• Manage and develop a team of accounting professionals

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• CPA designation or equivalent
• 3+ years of experience in Accounting Policies & Procedures, work with city departments, Annual Operating Budgets, and Annual ROPs
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Experience with accounting software and ERP systems
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience managing and developing a team of accounting professionals
