Job Details

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Accounting Manager to join our dynamic finance team. As an Accounting Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations of our organization. This is a permanent position in the finance industry that offers tremendous growth opportunities and the chance to work with a talented team of professionals.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
2. Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
3. Coordinate and manage the annual audit process, working closely with external auditors to ensure compliance and timely completion.
4. Develop and maintain the budgeting and forecasting process, providing accurate financial projections and analysis.
5. Manage the chart of accounts, ensuring it is structured effectively to capture all relevant financial information.
6. Oversee cash management activities, including monitoring cash flow, preparing cash forecasts, and managing banking relationships.
7. Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.
8. Utilize manufacturing experience to analyze and report on production costs, inventory valuation, and cost of goods sold.
9. Provide leadership and guidance to the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
10. Implement and optimize the use of PLEX, our enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, to streamline accounting processes.
11. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely sales and use tax filing.
12. Perform inventory accounting, including valuation, reconciliation, and analysis of inventory levels.
13. Conduct cost accounting analysis, identifying areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
14. Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices, ensuring compliance with all relevant accounting standards.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA certification is highly preferred.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with a focus on financial reporting and analysis.
3. Strong knowledge of GAAP and experience preparing financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
4. Proven experience leading month-end and year-end close processes.
5. Previous audit experience, preferably with a Big 4 accounting firm.
6. Excellent knowledge of budgeting and forecasting processes, with the ability to provide accurate financial projections.
7. Experience working with complex chart of accounts structures.
8. Solid understanding of cash management principles and practices.
9. Manufacturing industry experience is highly desirable.
10. Previous management experience, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
11. Proficiency in using PLEX or other ERP systems is a plus.
12. Strong understanding of sales and use tax regulations and filing requirements.
13. Knowledge of inventory accounting principles, including valuation and reconciliation.
14. Familiarity with cost accounting methodologies and analysis techniques.
