Exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and fast-paced organization in the fuel industry! We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Accounting Operations Lead to join our team on a permanent basis. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a challenging environment and is passionate about managing financial operations and ensuring financial accuracy. The successful candidate will have a strong background in accounting operations, including experience with project management, internal and external audits, General Ledger (GL), Accounts Receivable (A/R), supervising AR, SOP generation, and accruals.

Responsibilities:

The Accounting Operations Lead will be responsible for:

1. Overseeing all accounting operations, including A/R, General Ledger, and accruals.
2. Supervising the AR team to ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices, credits, and other documentation.
3. Conducting regular internal and external audits to verify the accuracy of financial transactions and compliance with established controls and procedures.
4. Utilizing project management skills to lead initiatives aimed at improving financial processes and systems.
5. Developing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the accounting department.
6. Collaborating with other departments to streamline financial processes and ensure accurate financial reporting.
7. Providing guidance and support to the accounting team, fostering an environment of continuous learning and improvement.
8. Participating in strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
9. Ensuring compliance with accounting laws, regulations, and standards.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the Accounting Operations Lead position will have:

1. A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA designation or other relevant professional certification is preferred.
2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership role within an accounting department, preferably in the energy industry.
3. Proven experience with project management, internal and external audits, GL, A/R, supervising AR, SOP generation, and accruals.
4. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
6. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
7. Proficiency in using accounting software and other financial management tools.
8. A solid understanding of accounting principles and regulations.
9. The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
10. A proactive approach, with the ability to identify and implement process improvements.
11. A high level of integrity and professional ethics.
