This is a permanent position in the Manufacturing industry where you will be responsible for managing the accounting department, overseeing the financial operations, and ensuring that the financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported. This role requires a candidate with a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work in a high-paced, constantly evolving environment. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role and a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

1. Supervise the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including managing the accounts receivable and payable, payroll, and financial reporting.

2. Ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely in accordance with GAAP and company policies.

3. Prepare and analyze financial reports, including balance sheets, income and loss statements, and tax returns.

4. Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the department.

5. Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.

6. Collaborate with other departments to prepare budgets and financial forecasts, and report variances.

7. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.

8. Mentor and develop the accounting team, managing work allocation, training, problem resolution, performance evaluation, and building of an effective team dynamic.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field is required.

2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably in the manufacturing industry.

3. Proven experience as a supervisor or a relevant role demonstrating strong leadership skills.

4. Proficiency in Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.

5. Solid understanding of accounting principles, fair credit practices, and collection regulations.

6. Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, and familiarity with accounting software.

7. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.

8. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.

9. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
