Our fast-paced manufacturing company is currently seeking an experienced and highly skilled Accounts Payable Clerk. This role plays a significant part in the financial team, with opportunities for career growth and learning. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the company's accounts payable process and function in a professional and knowledgeable manner. This position requires 5+ years of experience in an accounts payable role.

Responsibilities:
1. Process accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
2. Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts payable data.
3. Prepare bills, invoices and bank deposits.
4. Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
5. Verify discrepancies by and resolve clients’ billing issues.
6. Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients.
7. Generate financial statements and reports detailing accounts payable status.
8. Develop, implement and maintain systems, procedures and policies, including accounts payable functions to ensure adherence to company guidelines.
9. Provide accounting assistance to project managers and operations staff; respond to financial questions/concerns to meet business needs.
10. Act as a liaison between the company, government and external accountants to meet information needs and to ensure that proper information is maintained for historical purposes.

Qualifications:
1. Proven working experience as accounts payable clerk (or accounts receivable clerk).
2. Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles.
3. Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.
4. Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.
5. Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software.
6. Proficiency in English and in MS Office.
7. Customer service orientation and negotiation skills.
8. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
9. BS degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration is a plus.
10. Experience in the manufacturing industry is desired but not required.
