Position Overview:
We are seeking a forward-thinking Accounts Payable (AP) Manager to lead and evolve our payables function. This role is ideal for a strategic and detail-oriented individual who thrives in process improvement, values team mentorship, and excels in both technical accounting and systems optimization. The right candidate will bring strong leadership, emotional intelligence, and a passion for automation and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the full-cycle accounts payable process, including invoice coding, approvals, payment processing, and vendor management.
Lead the implementation of automation tools and workflows to streamline the AP function.
Partner with cross-functional teams to identify inefficiencies and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain accurate and timely AP records, ensuring compliance with internal controls and company policies.
Own monthly close responsibilities related to AP, including accruals, reconciliations, and reporting.
Serve as a mentor and coach to AP staff, fostering growth, accountability, and high performance.
Collaborate with Procurement, Operations, and Accounting teams to ensure alignment and timely vendor payments.
Develop and present AP metrics and dashboards using advanced Excel functions and reporting tools.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
5+ years of progressive AP or accounting experience, with 2+ years in a leadership role.
Proven experience automating AP processes and driving system improvements.
Expertise in Sage Intacct (required).
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, complex formulas, macros, dashboards).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a coaching mindset.
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of accuracy.
Experience implementing or working with AP automation platforms is a plus.
