Job Details

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provide guidance to clients on their rights under California disability and public retirement laws, including CalPERS, LACERA, and City of Los Angeles pension systems.
  • Prepare and present cases before administrative agencies and trial courts, including evidentiary hearings and Superior Court.
  • Draft clear and persuasive pleadings, briefs, and correspondence tailored to client needs.
  • Analyze medical records, occupational injury reports, and employment documentation to build strong, evidence-based claims.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop individualized strategies and solutions.
  • Manage a complex caseload independently while maintaining accountability and meeting deadlines.

Required Skills & Background:
  • Active license to practice law in California.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in administrative law or related areas, with a preference for candidates experienced in disability retirement or public safety worker cases.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in legal research, writing, and case preparation.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal and medical concepts to clients.
  • Solid understanding of California public pension systems; familiarity with medical concepts and disability evaluations highly valued.
  • Self-motivated professional who can work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
