Job Description: Anesthesiologist (General & Specialty Anesthesia)

Duration: Full-time/Week-long coverage preferred, flexible scheduling options available

Position Overview:
We are actively seeking multiple Anesthesiologists to join our dynamic team. We offer full-time positions with flexibility in both weekday clinical work shifts (typically 7 am - 3 pm) and on-call coverage (including weekends). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general anesthesia and a variety of specialized anesthesia techniques, with a focus on adult and pediatric patients, as well as experience in complex cases and advanced procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide anesthesia care for a wide range of cases, including general, trauma, spinal, epidural, OB/GYN, neurosurgical (head and spine), open heart, thoracic, complex vascular, and orthopedic cases.
  • Administer anesthesia for pain management procedures, including post-op epidural, lumbar and cervical epidural steroid injections, extremity blocks, and transforaminal blocks (lumbar and cervical).
  • Manage ventilation and respiratory care including ventilator management and airway maintenance.
  • Utilize x-ray guidance in performing regional blocks and epidural procedures.
  • Perform advanced techniques, including central line placement, arterial line placement, PA catheter placement, and evaluation and management of acute volume/BP issues.
  • Supervise CRNAs and other anesthesia staff in a collaborative team environment.
  • Provide anesthesia services in a variety of clinical settings, including routine, trauma, and complex procedures.
  • Respond to on-call duties including weekend 24-hour call coverage and weekday overnight shifts as required.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • General Anesthesia experience required. Adult anesthesia preferred; pediatric anesthesia and neonatal anesthesia preferred.
  • Experience with spinal anesthesia, epidural anesthesia, regional anesthesia surgery, and OB cases preferred.
  • Specialized experience in neurosurgical cases (head and spine), open heart anesthesia, thoracic cases, complex vascular surgeries, complex orthopedic procedures, and pain management techniques.
  • Expertise in post-op epidurals, epidural steroid injections, extremity blocks, and transforaminal blocks (lumbar and cervical).
  • Ability to perform advanced procedures such as central line placement, arterial line placement, PA catheter placement, and utilize x-ray guidance for blocks.
  • Experience in ventilator management and the evaluation and management of acute volume/BP issues.
  • CRNA supervision experience preferred, but not required.

Credentialing Timeframe: 60-90 days

EMR System: Epic

Schedule Details:

  • We are seeking Anesthesiologist coverage, ideally for one full week at a time, but we are open to other durations.
  • Weekday clinical shifts (typically 7 am - 3 pm) and overnight call coverage during weekdays.
  • Weekend 24-hour call coverage needs also available.

Patient Population & Clinical Environment:

  • The position involves working with a diverse patient population across a variety of specialties.
  • The ideal candidate will work alongside a team of experienced CRNAs, other anesthesiologists, and medical professionals in a high-quality care setting.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Board-certified or Board-eligible Anesthesiologist.
  • Experience with general anesthesia and specialized anesthesia techniques (spinal, epidural, OB, neurosurgery, complex vascular, etc.).
  • ACLS and BLS certifications required.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.
