We are looking for a dynamic, dedicated, and detail-oriented Applicant/Plaintiff Workers Compensation Attorney to join our legal team. You will be responsible for representing injured workers and their dependents in all proceedings before the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board. This includes conducting discovery, making court appearances, taking depositions, and preparing for and attending trials. You will also provide legal advice and guidance to clients, ensuring their rights are protected and they receive the compensation they are entitled to. This role requires a minimum of 1+ years of experience in the legal industry, specifically in applicant workers compensation and plaintiff workers compensation.
Responsibilities
1. Represent injured workers and their dependents before the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board.
2. Conduct extensive case investigation and evaluation to assess the validity of each case.
3. Prepare and draft legal documents such as pleadings, briefs, motions, appeals, and settlement agreements.
4. Conduct discovery, including depositions, interrogatories, and document production.
5. Prepare for and attend trials, hearings, and other legal proceedings.
6. Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients, ensuring they receive the maximum compensation possible.
7. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of workers' compensation laws and regulations.
8. Provide legal advice and guidance to clients throughout the legal process.
9. Collaborate with legal team members to develop strategies for handling cases.
10. Ensure all case files, data, and information are maintained accurately and confidentially.
Qualifications
1. Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
2. A minimum of 1+ years of experience as a Plaintiff-side workers' compensation attorney, specifically in applicant workers compensation and plaintiff workers compensation.
3. Active member of the State Bar in good standing.
4. Proven track record of successfully representing clients in workers' compensation cases.
5. Strong knowledge of workers' compensation laws and regulations.
6. Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
7. Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal issues in a clear and understandable manner.
8. Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously and meet deadlines.
9. High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
10. Proficient in legal research and analysis, with the ability to develop innovative legal strategies.
11. Ability to work independently, yet also collaborate effectively with a team.
