Job Details

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of application developers to design, develop, and implement mainframe applications related to the insurance industry.
  • Oversee the entire application development process, from conceptualization to final product delivery.
  • Collaborate with various business units to understand their needs and develop appropriate technical solutions.
  • Ensure the alignment of the application development strategy with the overall IT and business strategy.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and advancements, and implement new technologies and methodologies as appropriate.
  • Ensure the adherence to quality standards and best practices in application development.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
  • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts as necessary.
  • Monitor system performance and implement improvements as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in application development, with a focus on mainframe applications.
  • Extensive experience in the insurance industry, specifically in annuities, life insurance, and insurance administration.
  • Strong knowledge of the insurance domain and related regulatory requirements.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Familiarity with the latest trends and advancements in application development and mainframe technologies.
