Responsibilities:
Qualifications:
- Lead a team of application developers to design, develop, and implement mainframe applications related to the insurance industry.
- Oversee the entire application development process, from conceptualization to final product delivery.
- Collaborate with various business units to understand their needs and develop appropriate technical solutions.
- Ensure the alignment of the application development strategy with the overall IT and business strategy.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and advancements, and implement new technologies and methodologies as appropriate.
- Ensure the adherence to quality standards and best practices in application development.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts as necessary.
- Monitor system performance and implement improvements as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in application development, with a focus on mainframe applications.
- Extensive experience in the insurance industry, specifically in annuities, life insurance, and insurance administration.
- Strong knowledge of the insurance domain and related regulatory requirements.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Familiarity with the latest trends and advancements in application development and mainframe technologies.
