Under limited supervision, ensure proper product application, provide technical support to Sales and customers, develop new product applications, and identify necessary product design changes. Collaborate with Sales staff to develop competitive, technically sound offerings. Partner with Sales staff and customers by answering a range of questions on product use. Attend plant commissioning(s) to ensure proper startup activities. Troubleshoot problems from plants. Manage pilot studies. Evaluate new and existing product performance in new and existing applications, through customer on-site support and pilot testing.

Capillary, Process Separation, MF, UF, NF and RO:
- Develops software projections to model organizations’ product performance and system application for new or existing products; optimizes designs and recommends best product ensuring meeting customer performance requirements.
- Reviews designs and warranties prepared by sales staff to develop sound offerings and obtains required management approvals.
- Reviews pre-treatment and post-treatment technologies to determine the impact on membrane performance.
- Trains customers and organization’s staff on technology and best practices.
- Directs start-up commissioning at plants; manages pilot testing activities and operation of membrane; evaluates plant data and assesses membrane performance; develops plant performance reports.
- Interacts with organization’s plant engineers to communicate the company’s technical position.
- Analyzes data from pilot tests to extrapolate design and performance to a full-scale system.
- Analyzes membrane processes as to their technologies or compares organizations’ membrane applications against competitor designs; sustains informational database on company’s products performance as well as competitors.
- Identifies needs to change design features for new and existing products; advises and works with Product Development Engineers of novel and proprietary product designs and ways to significantly improve existing product offerings.
- Prepares technology case studies and technical papers for journals.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering or comparable; 3 years’ directly related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two (2) years’ experience in water industry, preferred.
- Experience in Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) or A&E companies, a plus.
- Strong working knowledge of water chemistry concepts, fluid flow and water pressure as well as analytical method and technical writing; above average understanding of Reverse Osmosis, Ultrafiltration and Microfiltration processes and products.
- Strong working knowledge of plant processes, RO, NF and UF with practical application to the field; specifically strong industrial wastewater experience desired.
- Strong understanding of Reverse Osmosis, Ultrafiltration and Microfiltration processes and products.
- Strong multi-tasking skills, flexibility in responding to rapidly changing, dynamic processes and demands/pressures in a fast-paced environment.
- Write clear processes, manuals and reports for management review and present technical information.
- Read, understand and generate P&ID, 2D and 3D CAD drawings.
- Travel for extended periods and work with a flexible schedule.
