Summary:
The Aquaculture Systems Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of our aquaculture farm.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of saltwater recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor water quality parameters and implement corrective measures as necessary to maintain a healthy and productive aquatic environment.
- Manage the cultivation and production of targeted aquatic species.
- Implement best practices for feeding, health monitoring, and disease prevention.
- Lead and supervise a team of aquaculture technicians and support staff.
- Provide training and guidance to ensure a high level of competency among the team.
- Ensure compliance with local and international aquaculture regulations and standards.
- Prepare regular reports on farm performance, including production metrics and environmental impact.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimization within the aquaculture systems.
- Stay informed about advancements in aquaculture technology and recommend relevant upgrades.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Aquaculture, Fisheries, Marine Biology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in managing commercial aquaculture operations, with a focus on saltwater recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS).
- Familiarity with freshwater aquaculture systems is a plus.
- Experience in managing commercial hatchery operations is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a tropical climate and adapt to local environmental conditions.
