AR Collections Specialist

An company that is the single source for commercial, residential and industrial building, repair and rehabilitation products.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Collections Specialist. Direct customer collection contact. Construction lien and bond knowledge preferred. Must have 3 or more years B2B commercial collection experience from a large company. No retail, medical or third-party collectors please.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee commercial collections for our clients in the construction industry
• Conduct thorough analysis of accounts receivable and identify potential issues
• Develop and implement strategies to reduce delinquent accounts and improve cash flow
• Communicate with clients and contractors to resolve payment disputes and negotiate payment plans
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely billing and invoicing
• Maintain accurate records of all collections activities and update client files as needed
• Monitor and manage tax liens and other legal actions related to collections
• Provide regular reports and updates to management on collections performance and trends

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in commercial collections or related field
• Strong knowledge of credits, debits, tax liens, and other collections-related processes
• Proficiency in Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP's, and macros
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Experience working with contractors and clients in the construction industry a plus
• Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze data and identify trends
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
