Job Details

The Project Architect is a strategic hire to expand our Healthcare team in the Portland ME office. The successful candidate should be passionate about Healthcare and endeavor to bring collaborative, curious, and creative solutions to all projects. The candidate will be responsible for project documentation, project coordination with consultants, and construction administration. This is an exciting opportunity for those looking for career advancement within out Healthcare studio.

Requirements:
  • A professional degree in Architecture (Bachelor’s or Master’s).
  • 5+ years of experience with 3+ years on Healthcare projects
  • Understanding of structural, mechanical, and plumbing systems as it relates to architectural design.
  • Architectural registration preferred
  • Proficiency in Revit, Enscape, SketchUp, Microsoft Office
  • Must be willing to travel to project locations as needed.
  • A passion for healthcare architecture and the technical development and production of documents to contribute to the broader success of the firm

Duties:

  • Independently prepare floor plans, building sections, elevations, details, wall sections, schedules, and other design elements as required for each drawing phase of a project.
  • Work with the project team to support the team in all phases of design, documentation, and construction of projects.
  • Proactively participate in the project team’s decision-making process to insure a technically sound and innovative design solution.
  • Communicate effectively with other disciplines to ensure coordination of project documents.
  • Attend client and project team meetings and incorporate project feedback into the documents.
  • Work closely with our Technical Leader to perform code analysis and project specifications.
  • Manage deadlines in an organized, thoughtful way under the direction of the Project Manager and Principal-in-Charge.
  • Assure that the technical quality of documents is achieved as part of a QA/QC process.
  • Lead the project team with construction administration activities including review of shop drawings, submittals, timely response to RFIs, etc., reviewing with the project team to maintain the intent of design.
  • Actively participate in the firmwide committees bringing your experience and insight to contribute to broader firm success
  • Perform other duties as needed.
