Job Details
This is a full-time, hybrid role for an Assistant Controller based in Fairfax, VA, with partial remote work flexibility. The Assistant Controller will play a critical role in supporting the finance and accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and contributing to financial planning and analysis efforts. This role will work closely with the Controller and executive leadership to uphold strong financial controls and support the company’s rapid growth trajectory.

- Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Support financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes
- Assist in managing general ledger accounting, journal entries, and account reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, GAAP standards, and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with external auditors and tax professionals during audits and filings
- Provide insights through financial analysis to support strategic decision-making
- Help implement and improve accounting systems and processes
- Maintain documentation for internal controls and financial procedures
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting and GAAP
- Experience preparing and analyzing financial statements
- Demonstrated skills in financial planning and financial analysis
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
- CPA or CFA certification (required)
- Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (preferred)
- Experience in real estate or investment management environments (preferred)
- Familiarity with accounting software and ERP systems; tech-savvy a plus
