Job Details
Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the preparation of financial statements in compliance with official guidelines and requirements.
2. Manage journal entries, invoices etc. and reconcile accounts for the monthly or annual closing.
3. Support most aspects of accounting management (billing, tax forms, reporting etc.)
4. Participate in the formulation of internal controls and policies to comply with legislation and established best practices.
5. Assist in the preparation of budget forecasts and report variances.
6. Help in the development of reports for management or regulatory bodies.
7. Review the company’s accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances.
8. Utilize accounting IT system (NetSuite) to facilitate processes and maintain records.
9. Coordinate the audit process, liaise with external auditors and manage internal controls.
10. Participate in strategic planning, fraud prevention, and budget development.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
2. Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is required.
3. A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in a similar role within the retail sector.
4. In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
5. Proficiency in NetSuite or similar accounting software and MS Office, particularly MS Excel.
6. Experience with audits, invoice processing, and budget forecasting.
7. Excellent mathematical skills and an analytical mind.
8. Strong communication and presentation skills.
9. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
10. Proven ability to manage, guide and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used.
11. A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles.
12. Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations.
