Job Details
The Assistant Controller will support the CFO in oversight of the day-to-day financial operations of the company. This position will play a key role in assisting with accounting functions, financial reporting, internal controls, compliance, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulations.
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Managing the daily accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and other financial analysis.
- Manage AP/AR teams to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.
- Manage the cost accounting function and ensuring accuracy in cost mechanics within the manufacturing process.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
- Support system enhancements and process automation initiatives to improve financial accuracy and efficiency.
- Provide support in financial analysis and insights that help with strategic decision-making and improving operational efficiencies.
- Support and assist the CFO with the strategic objectives of the business, including some M&A work.
- Play a key role in mentoring others within the accounting department, promoting a culture of growth and learning.
- Stay informed about changes in accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends, and implement best practices as needed.
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA preferred
- 5+ years’ of experience in Accounting, with supervisory or managerial experience preferred
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Experience with lean manufacturing or process improvement initiatives.
- Extensive knowledge in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel.
- Knowledge of Epicor business software is a plus
- Excellent analytical, organization and leadership skills
- Strong leadership, adaptability, communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working with multiple departments
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Advanced knowledge of accounting and compliance requirements
