Responsibilities:

As an Assistant Controller, you will be responsible for:

  • Assisting in the supervision and management of the overall accounting operations, including accounts receivable, billing, collections, and fixed assets.
  • Maintaining and ensuring compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Conducting regular audits, identifying discrepancies, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Managing the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Preparing ad hoc reports and analyses as required by the management.
  • Assisting in payroll management, including payroll accrual and processing using ADP Workforce Now.
  • Collaborating with the IT department to optimize the use of the ERP system (Oracle and Sage Intacct).
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
  • Working closely with the insurance department to manage risk and ensure compliance.
  • Assisting in the preparation of budget forecasts and financial planning.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in the insurance industry, specifically in a financial or accounting role.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, particularly Oracle and Sage Intacct.
  • Experience with ADP and ADP Workforce Now for payroll management.
  • Solid understanding and knowledge of GAAP.
  • Demonstrated experience in accounts receivable, billing, and collections.
  • Strong skills in fixed assets management and month-end processes.
  • Excellent skills in ad hoc reporting and conducting audits.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
