We are seeking a seasoned, detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Assistant Controller in the Construction industry. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional with a strong understanding of finance and accounting principles and a passion for the construction industry. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, with a proven track record in the areas of month-end close and job costing.
Responsibilities:
As an Assistant Controller, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including but not limited to:
1. Assisting in the preparation and execution of month-end close processes, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
2. Overseeing the job costing process, ensuring costs are accurately allocated and reported.
3. Assisting in the preparation of financial statements and reports, providing detailed analysis and commentary on results.
4. Ensuring compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards.
5. Assisting in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
6. Working closely with other departments to provide financial insight and support, helping to drive business performance.
7. Participating in special projects as needed, providing financial expertise and support.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
1. A minimum of 3 years of experience at a homebuilder.
2. Strong understanding of financial and accounting principles, with specific experience in month-end close and job costing.
3. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A CPA or CMA designation is preferred.
