We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Controller to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated, detail-oriented professional to contribute to our financial team. You will play a crucial role in overseeing the preparation of financial statements, monthly reporting, and general ledger (GL) management. This position requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
Responsibilities:
As an Assistant Controller, you will have a broad range of responsibilities that include but are not limited to:
1. Overseeing in the preparation and presentation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.
2. Overseeing the monthly reporting process, ensuring accurate and timely reports for management.
3. Managing the general ledger, including the review of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis.
4. Supporting the Controller in ensuring all financial reporting deadlines are met.
5. Assisting with the annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
6. Implementing and monitoring internal controls to ensure compliance with healthcare laws and regulations.
7. Participating in the development and implementation of new accounting systems and processes.
8. Liaising with external auditors and managing audit processes.
9. Providing training and guidance to junior accounting staff.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Assistant Controller role will have the following qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 2 years of progressive accounting experience.
3. Proficient in the preparation of financial statements and monthly reporting.
4. Strong knowledge of general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
5. Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
6. Strong analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
7. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
8. Experience with accounting software and databases.
9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
10. Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
