We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Controller to join our finance team. This is a permanent position that will play a critical role in our financial operations, providing leadership and coordination in the administrative, business planning, accounting, and budgeting efforts of the company. This position will be involved in strategic financial decisions, working closely with senior management and other key stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in international and multi-national accounting, with a deep understanding of US GAAP, FASB, and other relevant accounting standards.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist in the preparation of financial statements in compliance with official guidelines and requirements.
2. Manage journal entries, invoices etc. and reconcile accounts for the monthly or annual closing.
3. Assist in the preparation of budgets or forecasts.
4. Participate in preparation for the annual audit.
5. Help in development of reports for management or regulatory bodies.
6. Review the company’s accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances.
7. Utilize accounting IT system to facilitate processes and maintain records.
8. Coordinate with international branches to ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards.
9. Analyze financial trends, cost, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses.
10. Prepare and review monthly and annual financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.
11. Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements as well as the requirements of private contributions, loans, and government contracts.

Qualifications:

1. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.
2. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
3. 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience with at least 2 years in public accounting.
4. Proven experience as assistant controller or other similar position.
5. Solid knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulations.
6. Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting etc.).
7. Understanding of data analysis and forecasting.
8. Working knowledge of MS Office (especially excel) and accounting software (e.g. SAP).
9. Well-organized with ability to prioritize.
10. Very good communication and interpersonal skills.
11. Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
12. Experience with foreign currency transactions and financial statements.
13. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
14. Experience with technical accounting, external audits, and month-end and year-end close processes.
15. Must have the ability to handle confidential information in a discreet, professional manner.
