Full-Time & Direct Hire Assistant Controller needed for top-tier commercial construction firm!

In this role, you will lead project accounting, WIP reporting, and financial controls across high-visibility construction projects.

Job Details
- Own job costing systems across all projects
- Prepare WIP schedules and ensure accurate revenue recognition
- Oversee client billing (AIA forms), retainage tracking, and subcontractor compliance
- Analyze budget vs actuals, forecast cost-to-complete, and report to PMs
- Drive improvements in project accounting processes and systems
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting cycles
- Manage cash flows and month-end close
- Mentor junior accounting staff and cultivate cross-department trust
- Ensure GAAP compliance and support external audits
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar
- CPA preferred but not required
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Construction or manufacturing cost accounting background is required
- Strong WIP, job cost, and forecasting skills
- Expert-level Excel & strong ERP/financial system proficiency
- Strategic mindset with sharp attention to financial details
