Our company is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Assistant Controller with a strong background in the construction industry. This position is an integral part of our finance team and will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including job cost accounting, construction draws, financial reporting, and budget management.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist the Controller in managing all aspects of financial operations, including job cost accounting, construction draws, financial reporting, and budget management.
2. Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to support strategic decision-making.
3. Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
4. Coordinate with project managers to ensure accurate job costing and project budgeting.
5. Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
6. Monitor and analyze financial performance and report on variances.
7. Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
8. Participate in financial audits and coordinate with external auditors.
9. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
10. Support the Controller in managing cash flow and forecasting.
11. Assist in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. 5+ years of experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
3. Proficiency in job cost accounting and construction draws.
