We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Permanent Assistant Controller to join our dynamic team in the Scientific industry. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial health and growth of our company. The successful candidate will assist in managing all aspects of our organization's financial operations, including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist in preparing and presenting financial reports for meetings and investors.
2. Work with the Controller to ensure successful audit results and compliance with financial regulations.
3. Develop financial strategies by forecasting capital, facilities, and staff requirements; identifying monetary resources; and developing action plans.
4. Monitor financial performance by measuring and analyzing results, initiating corrective actions, and minimizing the impact of variances.
5. Assist in budget preparation and expense management activities.
6. Conduct risk management analysis and make investment decisions.
7. Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department’s goals and objectives.
8. Monitor emerging technology to determine ways to automate the accounting process without sacrificing accuracy and accountability.
9. Develop and maintain systems of internal controls to safeguard financial assets of the organization.
10. Engage in ongoing cost reduction analyses in all areas of the company.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. MBA or related advanced degree is preferred.
2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position.
4. Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
5. Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
6. Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
7. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
8. Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
9. Excellent leadership and team management skills.
10. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
11. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
