Job Details

The Assistant Project Manager will partner closely with the Project Manager to ensure successful execution of project goals. This includes assisting with safety initiatives, planning and scheduling, cost tracking and reporting, customer updates, budgeting, estimating, change management, billing, and bid preparation.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the development of standardized systems and workflows for cost reporting, billing, scheduling, material procurement, subcontractor management, documentation, and budgeting.
  • Manage submittals and coordinate with project team members to ensure resources and materials arrive on schedule.
  • Assist in establishing project structure at launch, including safety planning, document control, cost codes, material and tooling plans, equipment needs, and billing schedules.
  • Maintain and organize all construction documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with superintendents, clients, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure timely project completion and a positive experience for all stakeholders.
  • Identify potential challenges and work with the project team to implement solutions that maintain schedule and quality.
  • Coordinate and schedule subcontractors, consultants, inspectors, and vendors to ensure timely execution.
  • Monitor work and materials to verify compliance with quality control standards at each project stage.
  • Track daily progress and provide status updates as needed.
  • Assist with preparing proposals and estimates, including quantity take-offs from drawings.
  • Help evaluate and price change orders resulting from drawing revisions or RFIs.
  • Work with the Project Manager on monthly financial reviews, job forecasts, and reporting.
  • Travel to and maintain a presence on job sites as needed to fulfill responsibilities.

Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or 7 years of relevant experience in foundation or utility civil construction.
  • 1–4 years of experience in project management, construction management, or related engineering roles within foundation drilling, deep foundations, concrete, or utility construction.
  • Strong teamwork, leadership, and organizational abilities, with a proactive and self-directed work style.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and clear communication with internal teams and subcontractors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, experience with ERP systems (e.g., CMiC, Procore), and knowledge of industry-standard practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and building codes.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to job sites.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and high professional standards.

Strongly Preferred: Experience with deep foundation, drilled shaft, and foundation construction projects.
