We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Assistant Project Manager to join our team in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting in the planning, management, and execution of our construction projects. This will involve working closely with project managers, clients, and team members to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. The successful candidate must have a solid understanding of commercial construction, budgeting, contract management, and communication. This is a full-time permanent position that offers a rewarding career path for those passionate about construction and project management.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist in the planning and implementation of construction projects, ensuring they are completed in a timely manner and within budget.
2. Work closely with project managers to understand all aspects of the project, including technical requirements, project resources, and project timeline.
3. Manage contracts and liaise with contractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure all contractual terms are met.
4. Assist in budgeting and financial forecasting for projects, regularly monitoring project costs to ensure they align with the budget.
5. Coordinate and supervise construction workers and subcontractors, ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with project plans and safety regulations.
6. Prepare and present regular project updates to stakeholders, addressing any issues or delays and providing solutions to mitigate them.
7. Maintain a high level of communication with all team members, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
8. Ensure all project documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and properly stored for future reference.
9. Perform risk management to minimize project risks and potential liabilities.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
3. Strong knowledge of commercial construction, including best practices and industry regulations.
4. Proven experience in budgeting and contract management.
5. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to a variety of stakeholders.
6. Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving potential issues.
7. Proficient in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
8. Ability to work well under pressure, managing multiple tasks and meeting tight deadlines.
9. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
10. Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel as needed to oversee project sites.
