We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Assistant Superintendent to join our team in the Healthcare Construction sector. This exciting role involves overseeing the construction of Freestanding Emergency Departments (FSED) and other healthcare facilities. If you have a passion for creating state-of-the-art medical facilities, enjoy working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, and have a proven track record of managing large-scale commercial projects, this could be the perfect opportunity for you to showcase your skills and make a significant impact.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist the Superintendent in coordinating and supervising all construction activities.
2. Direct all field personnel to achieve completion of projects on schedule, within budget, and with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications.
3. Understand and implement the company's safety program to ensure a safe work environment.
4. Maintain daily log (written) of activities on the job site.
5. Ensure that subcontractor is fully executing and complying with his contracted scope of work.
6. Coordinate required inspections with local jurisdictions.
7. Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate them to project team for resolution.
8. Maintain positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and other employees.
9. Prepare, schedule, and supervise completion of a final punch list.
10. Promote job site safety, encourage safe work practices, and rectify job site hazards immediately.
11. Regularly review and understand project plans, specifications, contracts, and detailed reports to plan and coordinate construction activities.

Qualifications:

1. Minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry, specifically in healthcare construction and commercial projects.
2. Proven experience in managing the construction of Freestanding Emergency Departments (FSED) or similar healthcare facilities.
3. Excellent understanding of construction procedures, material, and project management principles.
4. Exceptional leadership and team-building skills.
5. Strong knowledge of construction safety laws and practices.
6. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
7. Ability to read blueprints, structural drawings, and plan sets.
8. Advanced understanding of risk management policies and procedures.
9. Extensive experience in managing crews and construction schedules.
10. Proficient in construction management software.
11. Bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or related field preferred.
12. Certification in construction safety or related field is a plus.
