We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Permanent Assistant Superintendent to join our dynamic Healthcare Construction team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing construction projects, particularly in the healthcare sector, and will be responsible for overseeing renovations, ground-up construction, additions, expansions, tenant improvements, and remodeling. Responsibilities:
As an Assistant Superintendent, you will be responsible for:
1. Assisting the Superintendent in overseeing all stages of project life cycle and ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget.
2. Coordinating and directing all construction workers and subcontractors, ensuring they understand their duties and are performing them effectively.
3. Participating in the planning and coordination of all project activities, including design, procurement, and construction.
4. Ensuring adherence to all health and safety standards, and creating a culture of safety among the team and subcontractors.
5. Implementing and monitoring quality control programs to ensure that all work meets or exceeds the client's expectations.
6. Managing and mitigating project risks and issues, and proactively communicating project status, issues, and risks to stakeholders.
7. Participating in project meetings and providing regular updates to the project team and stakeholders on project status.
8. Reviewing and interpreting project plans and specifications to ensure that construction is being carried out as per the design and quality standards.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you must have:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction management, specifically in healthcare construction.
2. Proven experience in managing construction projects including renovations, ground-up construction, additions, expansions, tenant improvements, and remodeling.
3. Strong knowledge of construction processes, methods, and materials.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate teams.
5. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate and mitigate project risks and issues.
6. A solid understanding of health and safety regulations in the construction industry.
7. Proficiency in construction management software tools.
8. A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred, but not required.
