We are seeking a motivated and experienced Permanent Assistant Superintendent to join our dynamic team in the healthcare construction industry. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who has a passion for construction and a deep understanding of healthcare facilities. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on approach, with a proven track record in construction renovations, ground-up, addition, expansion, and tenant improvement projects. This role requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
As a Permanent Assistant Superintendent, you will be responsible for:
1. Assisting the Superintendent in coordinating and supervising all construction activities, ensuring all projects are delivered on time and within budget.
2. Directing all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, and with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications.
3. Understanding and implementing project plans and specifications, including all architectural, structural, and mechanical drawings.
4. Managing day-to-day field activities to ensure that the project milestone dates and overall schedule completion dates are met.
5. Conducting regular inspections to ensure adherence to building codes, safety regulations, and other professional standards.
6. Coordinating and supervising all construction activities, including subcontractor coordination, material procurement, and site logistics.
7. Creating, updating, and maintaining project schedules with the project team.
8. Ensuring all healthcare construction projects comply with healthcare regulations and standards.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a construction management or supervisory role, preferably within the healthcare sector.
2. Proven experience in construction renovations, ground-up, addition, expansion, and tenant improvement projects.
3. Strong knowledge of construction methods and procedures, as well as building codes and regulations.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and work collaboratively with a diverse team.
5. Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
6. A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field is preferred.
7. Proficiency in construction management software and MS Office Suite.
8. OSHA certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
9. Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
10. Willingness to travel to various job sites as required.
