We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Permanent Assistant Superintendent to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in home construction and construction management, with an exceptional ability to manage project timelines, assist the superintendent, and work effectively with subcontractors. You will be directly involved in multifamily construction projects, maintaining schedules, meeting strict deadlines, and ensuring the successful completion of projects. Your practical knowledge of blueprints and new home construction will be integral to your role.
Responsibilities:
As the Assistant Superintendent, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
1. Assisting the Superintendent in managing the day-to-day operations of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
2. Collaborating with subcontractors and other project team members to ensure all work is completed according to design and quality standards.
3. Coordinating and supervising the activities of construction workers and subcontractors, ensuring all safety protocols and guidelines are strictly adhered to.
4. Reviewing and understanding blueprints, plans, and specifications to ensure the project is built according to the design.
5. Monitoring project progress, addressing any issues that arise, and ensuring project stays on schedule.
6. Conducting regular site inspections to ensure quality control and adherence to project specifications.
7. Reporting project status updates to the Superintendent, including any changes in schedule or issues that have arisen.
8. Participating in project meetings and providing input on construction planning and scheduling.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
1. Minimum of 2 years of experience in the construction industry, specifically in home construction and construction management.
2. Proven experience in managing project timelines, working with subcontractors, and assisting a Superintendent.
3. Demonstrated experience in multifamily construction projects.
4. Strong ability to maintain project schedules and meet strict deadlines.
5. Proficiency in reading and understanding blueprints, plans, and specifications related to new home construction.
6. Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to motivate and manage a team.
7. Strong problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality and safety.
8. A degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field would be advantageous.
