We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and experienced Assistant Superintendent to join our dynamic team in the Construction industry. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a company that specializes in multifamily construction and affordable housing projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in site management and a strong understanding of all phases of the construction process. With a minimum of 5 years of experience in the industry, the candidate will possess a passion for construction, a drive for results, and the ability to quickly adapt to any situation on the job site.
Responsibilities:
As an Assistant Superintendent, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Assisting the Superintendent in managing and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the construction site.
2. Ensuring that all work is performed in accordance with the project's plans, specifications, and quality standards.
3. Coordinating and supervising the activities of subcontractors and crew, ensuring adherence to schedules and budgets.
4. Participating in project meetings, providing updates on progress, potential delays, and any issues or concerns.
5. Implementing and enforcing site safety protocols, ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
6. Assisting in the resolution of design and detail-related problems, liaising with architects, engineers, and other construction and building specialists.
7. Conducting regular inspections of the construction site, identifying any potential issues or hazards, and taking necessary corrective actions.
8. Maintaining accurate records of construction activities, including daily logs, progress photos, and all relevant correspondence.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate must meet the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in multifamily construction, with a focus on affordable housing projects.
2. Proven experience in site management, with a strong ability to manage and coordinate multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
3. Solid understanding of all facets of the construction process, including architectural plans, building codes, and safety regulations.
4. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with team members, subcontractors, and clients.
5. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly adapt to changing situations and make sound decisions under pressure.
6. Proficiency in relevant software, including MS Project, AutoCAD, and construction management systems.
7. A degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
8. Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
