Our company is seeking a seasoned and dedicated Permanent Assistant Superintendent to join our dynamic team in the construction industry. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a growth-oriented company on a wide variety of projects, from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting in the management and organization of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. You will be an integral team member, providing leadership, planning, and reviewing projects while maintaining high standards of workmanship. This position requires a strong understanding of construction methods, excellent time management skills, and the ability to negotiate contracts effectively.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the planning, management, and implementation of construction projects from start to finish.
2. Coordinate and supervise construction activities on-site, ensuring projects adhere to design specifications and building codes.
3. Work closely with project managers to develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and forecasts.
4. Monitor and control project costs to ensure completion within budget.
5. Conduct quality control checks, ensuring the use of proper construction techniques and materials.
6. Manage and negotiate contracts with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
7. Ensure all construction activities comply with health and safety regulations.
8. Collaborate with architects and engineers to interpret and implement blueprints and technical drawings.
9. Utilize software such as Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and Revit to assist in project management and design.
10. Manage permitting process, ensuring all necessary permits are obtained and in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
11. Assist project managers in coordinating and directing the construction team and activities.
Qualifications:
1. Minimum of 3+ years of experience in construction management or a similar role.
2. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
3. Proven experience in project management, construction planning, and budget management.
4. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, quality control, and safety protocols.
5. Proficiency in Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and Revit.
6. Excellent time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
7. Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to secure favorable terms and pricing.
8. In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal building code regulations.
9. Experience in obtaining and managing construction permits.
10. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team.
11. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders.
12. PMP or equivalent certification would be considered an asset.
