Our law firm is seeking an experienced Permanent Associate Attorney who specializes in Civil & Criminal Litigation. This is an opportunity for a seasoned professional to make a significant impact by representing clients in both civil and criminal litigation matters. The successful candidate will have a passion for litigation, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of the legal profession. Responsibilities:
1. Represent clients in court or before government agencies, presenting evidence to defend or prosecute in civil or criminal litigation.
2. Prepare and draft legal documents, such as wills, deeds, patent applications, mortgages, leases, and contracts.
3. Analyze the probable outcomes of cases, using knowledge of legal precedents.
4. Examine legal data to determine advisability of defending or prosecuting a lawsuit.
5. Select jurors, argue motions, meet with judges, and question witnesses during the course of a trial.
6. Evaluate findings and develop strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases.
7. Gather evidence to formulate defense or to initiate legal actions, by such means as interviewing clients and witnesses to ascertain the facts of a case.
8. Negotiate settlements of civil disputes.
9. Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law.
10. Act as an agent, trustee, guardian, or executor for businesses or individuals.
Qualifications:
1. Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admitted to practice law and in good standing with the state bar.
3. Minimum of 5+ years of experience in civil and/or criminal litigation.
4. Proven experience in employment litigation and civil rights litigation.
5. Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
6. Exceptional analytical skills, with a strong ability to think strategically and analyze information timely and accurately.
7. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to handle numerous cases simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
8. Proficient in legal research and writing.
9. High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
11. Strong advocacy skills, with the ability to represent clients effectively in court.
